Getting started & fees
Do you offer a free first meeting?
Yes. Your first meeting is completely free and comes with no obligation. It's simply a chance for us to understand your situation and goals, and for you to get a feel for how we work and whether we're the right fit — no pressure either way.
How much does your advice cost?
We believe in being upfront about cost. Your first meeting is free, so there's no cost to simply explore whether we can help. If you'd like to keep going, we meet again to talk through a range of strategic options and get your thoughts and preferences, and to finalise the details of your situation and the scope of advice you're after. From there we provide a quote to proceed to formal advice — so you can see exactly what's involved and decide whether to go ahead before any formal advice is prepared. Where ongoing advice is needed, we offer fixed-term 12-month advice agreements, which start from $2,200 a year (including GST), with the exact figure depending on the complexity of your situation and how much advice and support you'll need across the year. We'll always agree any fees with you before any work begins.
What happens in the first meeting?
It's a relaxed, no-pressure conversation about where you're at now and what you'd like to achieve. There's no cost and no obligation. It helps to bring recent super statements and a rough idea of your income, expenses and goals — but don't worry if you don't have everything to hand, we can guide you through it.
Do I need a lot of money to see a financial adviser?
Not at all. We work with everyday families and business owners, not just the wealthy. In fact, good advice often makes the biggest difference for people who are still building — getting your super, savings and plan sorted earlier gives them more time to work for you.
How we help
Who do you work with?
We specialise in helping everyday families, people planning for retirement (particularly Gen X), and small business owners across Hobart's northern suburbs. If you're trying to make good decisions about your super, your retirement or building wealth, we can help.
Can you help with my super if it's with a big industry or retail fund?
Absolutely. We can review your existing super — whatever fund it's with — and look at the fees you're paying, the insurance inside it, and how it's invested, then help you understand whether it's set up to suit your goals.
What's the difference between general advice and personal advice?
The information on this website, and anything we discuss before you formally engage us, is general advice — it doesn't take your personal circumstances into account. Personal advice is tailored specifically to you and your situation, and is provided through a formal advice process and documented in a Statement of Advice. We'll always be clear about which is which.
